AMAZING JOURNEY:
THE LIFE OF PETE TOWNSHEND |
"To penetrate into the essence of being and significance and to release the fragrance of that inner attainment for the guidance and benefit of others, by expressing, in the world of forms, truth, love purity, and beauty - this is the sole game which has any intrinsic and absolute worth. All other happenings, incidents, and attainments can, in themselves, have no lasting importance."

Welcome!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my website. I started writing about Pete's life back in 1997, and what you're about to read is the result.
What I've done is basically chronicle Pete's life from a fan's perspective (meaning that I don't want anyone to think that this is a biography written by someone who personally knows him). I believe Pete's story is inspirational and fascinating. I have endeavored to provide an accurate and detailed account of Pete's life. With this in mind, I obviously welcome feedback and corrections, and have provided a link for readers to do just that on every page.
Here's the plan: Every week, I'll add a Chapter. There are currently 19 of them (and they're all just about ready to go), but since I'm constantly revising them, the number will probably change. The most likely scenario is that there will be 18 Chapters by the time the entire project is up on the web. I thought that the 'chapter a week' plan would be more fun than just dumping everything out there at once, and it also gives me an opportunity to give each chapter a good final review prior to posting it. Which doesn't mean I won't be tweaking them after they've been made public, anyway...
As with any sizeable project, I am indebted to many people. I'd like to thank the following people for their help/encouragement/advice:
Bonnie Bartman, Sheree Bykofsky and Brian Rubin, Brian Cady, Chris Charlesworth, Martin and Christine Cook, Sarah Hardin, Stella Hernandez, Nicola Joss, Matt Kent, Sheila Krynski, Lorne and George Patterson, Mark Richardson, Ken Small, and Scott Smith. I'd also like to thank my family, who by now probably know far more about Pete Townshend than they ever really wanted to!
Hope you find what I've written worthwhile, and that you stop back in to read the rest of it!

P.S.: The book features a fair amount of footnotes. To use the footnotes, click on the number. It will take you to the footnote. When you're finished, click on the number at the beginning of the footnote and it'll take you back to your place in the text.
